Last week’s HTT touched on a subject that a lot of bloggers as themselves as some point….
HAS THE MOMENT TO GAIN ENTRY AMONG THE BIG PLAYERS IN THE BLOGOSPHERE PASSED?
I know right? You’ve asked yourself that question too yes!?
So we discussed this topic last week on Hot Topic Thursday and talked and talked and talked about this it and many different opinions and sides to it were brought up in the conversation; But what were our main conclusions?
Of course it’s still very possible to become a ‘Top Dog’ in the blogosphere, but It’s no news that blogging is becoming more competitive with each passing day – Not in the sense that every blogger is competing agains the other – but as a blogger, you can’t afford to ‘sit down’ or ‘chill’ and expect things to somehow fall in place. You need to make them fall in place!
These days, it’s not just about how regularly you post or how great your blog looks but also about your ability to market yourself, get your content out there and being able to bring something new to the scene and that might just mean being genuinely yourself! – my 2 cents on this topic.
However, there were some other great thoughts and personal experiences shared by the bloggers who participated in last week’s discussion. Here they are :
Mide : “I believe there will always be a way to get in. The only thing is that anyone who wants to ‘get in’ must be ready to put in double effort. There’s no room for slackers in the blogosphere or anywhere actually.”
Onyekachi Opara : “… It’s about your ability to stand out… rather than worry about whether there’s enough space in the blogosphere for you (which there most certainly is), focus on creating content so good that it’ll attract the attention of the big shots...”
Barakah Bashir : “When I started blogging, I thought it was some joke… who knew I was ever gonna take classes and read books on blogging… but now I am so into… I have learnt so much… Now (I) have an idea as to what it means and takes to be a professional blogger“
Tracy : “ I think what keeps you relevant in the blogging world is your consistency and also the the value of the content of your blog“
Moyin : “…. Hard work always pays. A blogger might not be as big as another blogger but if he/she is committed, such a blogger would make it in his or her own little way and would also get … recognition“
So don’t worry if this issue’s ever bugged you. The blogosphere is big enough for everyone to shine!

My God
I’m so in love with this blog and this topic. I am a five month old photo blogger, and really everything mentioned here flows right into what I have seen, noticed and done.
Blogging is amazing, I tell you. It is also competitive now as well. What differentiates you is your unique content and ability to be fearless!
