Guess who’s on our December cover!

“Style… makes you stand out amongst millions of people. It’s your identity and should be unique just like a fingerprint” – Ifeanyi Okafor Jr

Male fashion bloggers are becoming a major style force in the Nigerian fashion industry and Ifeanyi Okafor Jr. is definitely one of the leading men on this. Stylish, modern and with a sense of style that’s definitely one to draw inspiration from, he gives us a little insight into his life as a male fashion blogger in Nigeria!

Who is Ifeanyi?

“Ifeanyi Okafor Jr. is a medical student, fashion and style enthusiast and a personal style blogger.”

Why did you start blogging?

“I started blogging for so many reasons. First of, I needed a means to express myself and my love for fashion. I also needed a way to document my style growth and also a platform to interact with people as regards fashion. So, starting a blog was just the right thing to do.”

How will you describe your style?

“I would describe my style as clean-cut, functional, a bit quirky and also to an extent edgy and futuristic. I love style because it makes you stand out amongst millions of people. It’s your identity and should be unique just like a fingerprint. I’m inspired by a lot of things. I try to incorporate my everyday experiences into my outfits. I put in what I have gained from both human and non-human interaction to create my outfits.”

What’s it like being a male blogger in Nigeria?

“To be entirely honest, it’s really tough due to the fact that bloggers aren’t as recognized in Nigeria. So, you can only imagine how it’s for male bloggers as blogging is thought to be for women only. When people even think about blogging, the first thing that comes to mind is gossip. That shouldn’t be so. They don’t know there are different types of blogging which include but not limited to, fashion, technology, travel etc. I sincerely hope that changes soon.”

What has been your biggest blogging challenge?

“My biggest blogging challenge would be time. I’m currently combining blogging with medical school which I must confess is not the easiest. But other than that, blogging is fun!”

What has been your biggest blogging success?

I would say getting features and collaborating with different amazing brands. My blog is going to be a year old by January 2017 and I would say it has been an amazing one year. I’m really thankful for everything and I hope for growth in every aspect.
