Yes Demi, start up brands are the best to aim for as a newbie blogger. It helps you build a portfolio and you still gain, if not money, at least products and features. That way, when you move to the bigger brands you can say this is what I did with abc and xyz and they know you understand what they need from you. However, even with the start up brands, make sure you’re still working with people you personally approve of. The gains shouldn’t be your only concern, we all owe our readers that.
Barakah love😚 how was your day? Hi jenifer and winifred☺
The thing is as a lifestyle bloggers or may be bloggers generally, It’s not really advicable to just go on internet and use just any picture, Because sometimes even though you, Reference, some people will still speak grammar for you and even threaten to sue you (it has happened to a blogger I know), so most times you want to do the design/graphics yourself or buy photos online
Hmmm… I really don’t know how to overcome the data issue to be honest…but one thing that might help if finding alternative ways to do things that you do while connected offline.
So for things like instagram, checking comments etc, why not dedicate a day or two a week to reading and replying comments instead of checking them every single day? or maybe a particular time of the day everyday instead of checking them every other hour?
Drafting posts, why not write your first draft on Word and then when you’re happy with it copy and paste it to your blog and format it to be published…
Yep! Exactly so @jennifer – it’s not just about getting free stuff and it definitely helps you develop your skills on working with brands as well
I really do agree with Winifred ..brands prefer to work with more established bloggers even most blogger platforms but the point Jennifer raised is a valid one.. You have to fight to put yourself out there ..it involves a lot of time and efforts ..As a newbie blogger I think determination is key also
All very good suggestions, hopefully we’ll stick to that method
Hmmm… Buying pictures? That’s expensive o but I do agree with you. That’s one of the main reason’s I got my own camera and take most, if not all my blog pictures myself.
That might be another way to save data 😀 Stop searching for pictures and take them yourself.
I think i find drafting posts earlier to be a solution, I am presently done with my exams and i should be in nigeria now, but i am like nbanu, aint nobody going through that stress gain, I have been drafting, which takes almost all the time in the world but saves you the stress. I would extend my stay than go through that data palava again. The memory is still fresh.
I just came to peep and talk small🙈, I have to study. Have fun guys😚
Yea. true. take the pictures yourself or buy them for a dollar better than that word “SUE”
Hiiii Tracy! Glad to have you here hun x
So from all you all have been saying so far, it seems the two main issues Nigerian bloggers in Nigeria face are
1 – Working with Brands
2 – Internet data
yes?
Awwww… Not so soon @Mide… but you have to study! All the best hun! Read well!
Hi Mide. Thanks for joining us today 🙂
We need to focus on other ways we can monetize our blogs tho. If you really take your time to study them, major bloggers don’t make money DIRECTLY from their blog. Dodos is a make up artist, Cassie Daves sells a blog planner, plans catwalk classes and offers blog consultations. Many beauty bloggers work as makeup artists and style bloggers work in that niche too. Their blog is basically their advert board and it’s making serious money for them. I work as a freelance content writer. I’m sure a few of us here have things we do that we can sell on our blog but the income won’t be coming directly from our blog. What do you think?
All the best Mide.. some people are already killing us with summer outfits and snaps.. It shall be your turn soon God’s Grace
