Hey everyone! Welcome back to HTT. So sorry about last week but we’re back with a topic I’m sure you all would love to discuss and learn about! – Blog Traffic
Everyone wants people to read their content! – whether it’s just to spread the word of what you do or share your opinion on something, you want people to read it else you won’t be blogging. Let’s just be real and drop the whole thing of blogging because you want to because even though that is very important increasing your blog traffic doesn’t solely mean trying to make money from traffic it just means getting people to know how awesome your blog is!
So that said… How do you or how can you increase your blog traffic? What are the most effective ways to do so and What ways have worked for you?

Now this is one topic I have been looking forward to. First and foremost the role of social media in increasing blog traffic cannot be overemphasized, I actually think that’s one of the major ways to increase blog traffic, then I think guest posting, collaborations, and even commenting on other blogs will generate traffic for your own blog. I’m sure there are other ways but I think these are some that have helped me so far.Hello Ladies,

Every blogger wants awesome traffic on their blog that’s not even debatable and their are different ways to achieve this. social media is one of course, building a strong social media following will definitely help in increasing taffic. Networking with other bloggers, brands and so on, especially with bloggers in your niche.
There is also SEO which helps a lot if you can understand it and really put it to good use. Collaborations, guests posts, following other bloggers, commenting on other blogs could definitely help with bringing more traffic to your blog.Hi Mide! It’s good to be back hun – Totally missed you all.
All you’ve said is great but one thing I’ve noticed we keep doing on HTT is just saying points but we need to talk a bit more about it else we can all just read whatever google says no? Lol.
Social media is great!Guest blogging is great (I even have a recent testimony from working with someone I met here on HTT) and I guess we all know these mediums can be very useful for increasing your blog traffic but HOW? By just owning an Instagram account? collaborating with any and everyone?

@Oyin – I agree with you as well. Advertising is good. I think Facebook ads in particular are really good as it’s easy to set up and very effective (in my experience) and it’s not so expensive…
Social media is also good, I think we all agree with that but what ways can that help? By growing a following? Just any following?
Definitely not… You need to get the right target audience to populate your follower/subscriber count but how do you do that?

Yes please @Folakemi – I’m a bit confused on that as well… All I really know so far is that it’s a way to make your content appear on search engines and rank higher (I think?) like on the first few pages when someone searches for a particular topic yes?

Of course one has to figure out who their target audience is and I feel with building a social media following especially with instagram no one will follow you if they don’t like what your posts are about. you stumble on an instagram page, read the bio, glance at their cover story and decide whether you want to follow them or not. once I see you’re a fashion blogger in your bio and i look at your first nine pictures and i like what i see i’ll definitely want to check your blog also.Hello everyone, I feel like this topic has been discussed here before. @demi, I like your idea of actually explaining the point and not just listing them
AnonymousGood evening everyone. Thanks for this topic @demi, I was just doing some research about it this afternoon. SEO was one point I saw over and over again but I don’t know the “intoto” about it please. Also learnt email subscription is a good way to increase traffic, social media followings, some experts said guest posting too. I find that when I release a new post, I have huge pageviews, for that day, and most likely it drops the folwwing day although not all the time sha. One thing I just recently discovered that helped me get more page views was while am sharing my post links on twitter, i would tag blog groups on twitter with a large following and they usually retweet your tweets although not every single tag they get but if you tag about 5 – 10, lol, 1 or 2 should retweet.

SEO is search engine optimization, I’ve heard about it a lot bt today i was less busy and decided to read about it. it entails quite a lot of things, Google keyword reader can be a very good help with it. by using certain key words in your blog posts that people will use in searching for related things it makes your blog/website appear top in google search engines.
